Learning Reflection
English reading strategies is good for all students. Comprehension of Learner can be improved by fostering awareness of reading comprehension strategies. The teachers should choose reading materials that are slightly above students’ current English proficiency level in order to stimulate students to adopt more reading strategies to deal with more challenging English texts.

               we studied about Classic Ann Landers. "Ann Landers" She was an advice columnist. We studied about match each letter to Ann Landers with its correct response. Have 4 person wrote the problem to Ann Landers.

Ann Landers advice : She advised her not to compete.

Today I had the reading English strategies class in the morning again. The teacher taught me about " Paragraph Reading Strategies : Books" When the class started, she gave us doing the exercise- There are eight short descriptions of books and novels. Read the question and then skim the descriptions for the answeres. Work as quickly as I can. Compare my answers with other student.

Books-including with title, author. description, publisher, year,number of page and cost of book etc.

Novels-including with title, authers. description, publisher, year,number of page and cost of book etc.


I think this is quite difficult but we have to get to know new words that we have never seen and we know the Asian culture.

       This teacher taught me about. "Read more". When I heard that I was interested in the topic. Beginner Level She talked to us about obstacls to read with faster performance. I said I read it in English because I will use all Scaning if I did not know the meaning of other words, I will open the dictionary and write the words in their notebooks. If I do not understand or interpret text that I read it several times. I feel like the role because it reflected real problems reading. And we can truly know how to solve problems.

How to Read Faster



1.Avoid sounding out the words in your head. 
2.Avoid reading word-by-word. 
3.Overcome inefficient eye movement.
4.Eliminate regression.
5.Avoid distractions.

Extensive Reading


This course is a good course for impoving English skills.
The benefits of this course makes me to know about 

how to find the main idea in each paragraphs, how to speak the words correctly, how to summarize the text the teacher giving, how to use skimming and scanning in the text, using Cambridge dictionary on website, writing English sentences correctly etc.
 I review a book or article to determine the research behind it. Knowing this information helps me to determine how the reader is making his/her conclusions and what might be absent from the discussion. So, I check the end of each chapter, the footnotes and end notes. The research notes also lead you to other writers should you want to investigate ideas further.
You might ask why I would use these two additional reading strategies. Earlier in my career I was more easily swayed by the popular business press. Later, I started looking behind what was being written to determine if what was being said was merely opinion or well substantiated with solid research. Having this distinction helped me to distinguish fad from fact. 
I think all article in this course are important and different to study but it makes me understand more than I have been.Thank you Asst. Prof. Dr.Usa Noytim for teaching about English Reading Strategies and providing lots of new experiences.

West meets East continue

          Today I had the reading English strategies class in the morning. The teacher taught me about " West meets East." to continue last week.when the class started, she gave us discussing the questions with my partner that the text mentions many celebrities, foods, and products from Asia. Which are we familiar with? Do you like them? and what products, celebrities, and foods from other Asian countries do we like? around 10 munites for discussing. and then she gave us to do the exercise about the vocabulary focus1 : Complete the text with the words in the box and taught the grammartical how to use like and such as.After that she told us to read the text about ''Expat in Asia''

I think this is quite difficult but we have to get to know new words that we have never seen and we know the Asian culture.

                    Today I was reading English at Strategy 08: 30-12: 30, my friends and I learned about the "fashion" is still weeks ago. Beginner Level Teachers review the past week.                 When we had already done exercise finish, the master who gave corrective feedback for us. My attitudes toward this lesson is useful for all students. It can be applied to the other course or lesson for understanding in reading each of stories.

          Today I had the reading English strategies class in the morning. The teacher taught me about " West meets East." When I heard the topic, I was interested. The class started. She gave us to look at the powerpoint for reaching the lesson and taught the cultures between the west and east. I was excited so much because I was allover about the west meets east cultures. And then she gave to do pre-reading1 and pre-reading2 (Discuss the questions with a partner.) Next, She gave us to read the story that was the "Asianization" of the United States.

         When we had already done exercise finish, the master who gave corrective feedback for us. My attitudes toward this lesson is useful for all students. It can be applied to the other course or lesson for understanding in reading each of stories.

                   Today, taught us about the "fashion". When the level starts. Our guest speaker will dicuss about "fashion" and her papers for all students. Group A to F, Each of them picks up the topics (the topics are 1.Blogging for ELT1, 2.Bloging for ELT2, 3.Podcast1, 4.Podcast2, 5.Facebook and 6.Search engine ), Everyone in the group reads the article of their topic for picking up!, Discuss about it inside their groups, Take the topic's summary, Each of groups' 2 people move to other groups for talking about their topics' summary, Tell each text of them for other groups, and go to discuss about the getting topic infront of the class." Next, who taught how to read "the musicnews&views' text." How to read this stories.This week, She gave to read the story about musicnews&views.How to read it the teacher say that 1. look at the picture 2. predicing the picture 3. previewing strategies which made us be easy for reading , interpretation and comprehension. And we used skimming, and scanning strategies and find the reference of subject in reading. The stories of the text ,I think I found difficult words and phrases. when I had problems, I will try to guess that words but I can not. This week, I think I found hard vocabularies. when I had a problem, I will try to guess that words but I can not. I will solve the problems are open dictionary book, search for information on the internet, line dictionary on my smart phone and www.oxforddictionaries.com etc. If I was unfamiliar some words or some phrases, I will note them in my notebook.                Instructor of my friends and I will continue coming weeks. She taught us about "Westerners turning to Japanese food" week. This article are related to Japanese food, Japanese food culture and the interests of Japan. Japanese food does not contain much cholesterol. It gives them the highest life expectancy in the world. And fewer people get cancer in Japan.
